Your ocean of legs breathed the evening out,
spun by winter’s runt drowned sun. And if
embellishment could be austere and bare
of colors, you will ribbon around reefs as if
fingers pulled strings of sorrow raggedly
across alkali. Minor of birds over mirrors of
blue flustering the dark’s monochrome,
lullabied your ears about the altar of shore,
where you placed hurt at the temple and
waited for strophic bearing of stars to orient.
